Its best to avoid these situations whenever possible. It's a lot easier in the independent space, but passion projects do not pay the bills. The thing about filmmaking is that credit is due at the end of every project. As in, there is literally a section within the film for credits on the film. There is no reason for anyone who contributed to miss out on having their credits on the end titles. From my experience, this often happens when a partner wants the company to seem bigger than it is, and they want all production services to fall under the surname of the production house directly. *This is poor form and an easy fix in post. The company can remain prominent in font, and each individual within the company can follow in the credits.

In my personal opinion; the notion of sisterhood? Pure fiction, a bedtime story for the naive. When it comes to betting on you, it's like waiting for pigs to fly – both are bound to disappoint. Women in power can act like they’ve got amnesia, forgetting your name faster than a New Year's resolution. So,peeps, craft your path and embrace the lone wolf strife. After all, trouble's a magnet for more, and in the end, people love to pour salt on your open sores.

This issue is industry wide. It's best to rely only on yourself when applicable. However, showing kindness, even when you know it would not be reciprocated can pay dividends towards your reputation. If people see you as honorable and fair, they will want to work with you every time.
