My experience tells me that sometimes different cultures observe the decision making process and the chain of command differently. These are the questions that I used in the past: - Is this a real issue or just a culture gap? - what is the preferable way for my boss to get information? Some people is more visual and other just like bullet points. - don’t communicate as you are, communicate as they are, because we understand the world in the way we are. - keep track on the way you present your feedback and see the result. After understanding what drives results, double down on that. I have reported to multiple bosses with d multiple professional and cultural backgrounds the key is for us to adapt to them so they can understand us.

This is a key step in reducing resistance to input. In order to be believable you have to be one of the people who provides a reasoned solution with pro and con arguments. Many people in charge have built up a resistance to input because they have been exposed to too many people who just disagree or complain because it is their nature

Ultimately it is the person in charge's decision, therefore you should give them as much supporting information as concisely as possible to inform them. When communicating your idea, try to hold measure its effectiveness against an objective standard, not your personal opinion.

I don't agree with the tone of this section, it seems more like you are trying to be subversive. Seeking allies to me means bouncing your idea off a few people in order to test its effectiveness. The other people might even have better input, or are able to present it in a more clear way. If you truly care about the right decision being made, you should not worry about credit, only that the best decision was made.
