Talk the talk and walk the walk has always been my way of building rapport and proving that I know what I'm doing. For me, I've always created a plan of action, shown my manager, the progress and over-delivered on the results. It's proved favorable for me. For example, in growing our social media marketing efforts. I started out with a mini campaign, showed the analytics of it's progression. When he saw what I could do with a very minimal budget, he increased it and provided me a larger one. You also have to recognize that building trust and rapport takes time. Don't try to rush the process and don't over promise. Stay confident in your abilities. And always communicate consistently, both positive and negative outcomes.
