Assessing skills are important, but mind you, a degree can't be a show stopper. I transitioned to the technology world even after being an Arts and Humanities Student. Struggle is real, but it's not painful if you are opportunistic and open to all types of learning. I often carefully listen to my deliver team's words when they are conversing amongst themselves in a meeting. This helps me to grab keywords which I try to understand by researching or just simply asking them, as per their availability. But, in a client facing role, this may not be possible so before landing into such, be prepared, Learn and Unlearn and take mentorship from seniors.

Doing a diploma and a degree is a nice way, but better is using Generative AI, which I do often use. Leverage free learning courses on many available websites and apps.

Practising frequent tech interview questions and scenarios before interviews enhanced my confidence and helped me perform effectively. Knowing the company's products, services, and culture is essential. I showed real interest and excitement in interviews by researching the organisation. Talking about my shift into technology and my passion for it highlighted my commitment to the company's success. Tech sector friends and mentors' mock interviews have helped me prepare for interviews. They gave me constructive criticism and advice on how to improve. Practicing the interview process helped me understand how to present my talents and experiences.
