Sometimes a good option on paper might not challenge you creatively and sometimes the thing you didn’t expect to suit you does. The way to truly find out this is go through the creative process. Even if the conclusion is that a particular area doesn’t suit you, it is a valuable part of your journey.

I think finding your niche goes hand-in-hand with proper maintenance and building of your portfolio. Your portfolio is a living repository that can and should constantly change based on what you need it to do. Although it's really important to get a broad range of experience for your CV and for your private portfolio (repository), the portfolio that you share with others should aim to demonstrate both what you'd like to be known for and the type of work you'd like to do more of in the future. Curating your portfolio can help you stand out from the crowd and demonstrate to others what makes you the artist that you are.
