Be proactive, engage, and curate your experience to maximize knowledge and fuel your personal and professional development.

While you should choose the platforms where your audience are most likely to be present on you should consider ?? testing the waters! ?? - Try different or emerging platforms to see what sort of response you get - Try out content formats that suit the platform and your audience's preferences - If your efforts aren't paying off, then at least you gave it a go. Give the platforms where your community is thriving your time and resources.

Choose 2-3 platforms that fit who you are and where you want to go. Know what types of content you want to create and then choose the platforms that specialize in those types of content.

You shouldn't try to learn everything everywhere. Pick the platforms that fit your interests and learning styles and do a bit of digging to see which topics are best represented on each one. As an example, I follow a handful of key sources on Twitter for topics on news, public health, and political and historical information. I'm on Twitter for climate activism info and Linkedin for climate business and breakthroughs. If I want to learn about social media how-tos and trends or home decor, I go to Instagram. And I study up on design topics on Youtube. There's some overlap, but I do try to keep it pretty siloed. It helps me to be intentional about who I follow and how I use my time, plus it keeps any one feed from getting overwhelming.

Learning by experience is the most efficient way to learn. Educators online share diverse and effective new ways of accomplishing tasks that would take long. Comparing different sources and determining the best choice that works best for your tasks can be a career changer. I know this as I have learned from other creative's experience through the various available resources.

Cause all you have to do is, watch reels/videos - ( just of your gurus) ?? or read memes and content - ( related to your field of study) ??It's like building your dream team of mentors and gurus. It's true, you can learn from various platforms in many ways, these days. Lately, social media is providing some high quality content of different genres, from amazing experts/mentors. It's a great way to start, for beginners though, and even for people who thrive for knowledge. But it's true aswell, without implementation of your learnings, you cannot gain any skill.

If you have something you are highly skilled at, consider teaching others this skill. You will reinforce your expertise and showcase yourself as a thought leader.

You can always beta-test social media apps on iOS and Android in order to stay ahead of the competition, but I recommend using a smartphone just for that.
