I actually discovered that what I thought I wanted to do and what I really wanted to do were two different things. I thought I wanted to be an animator, but every time I sat down to do the animation tutorials I'd get restless and never complete them. But .. when I did modeling tutorials I tended to not only stick to those to the end, but I'd apply what I learned. I'd even get ideas for how to combine a couple of concepts and performed little experiments to try them out! I ended up going down the modeling path and ... yep, that's definitely more my speed. If you find yourself getting creative about NOT doing something it might be a good idea to stop and reflect on what you're actually feeling. I think I avoided burning myself out.
