Seeking feedback is one of the key element in one's career development. I have worked with and experienced that some of our managers, they prefer only giving feedbacks to their colleagues, where they will enable the performance of thousands, developing the talents within his/her working zone. Kudos to those leaders for developing many new talents, but what about self development and growth. At this point, if this same leaders starts receiving the feedback from their colleagues, it will conflict with their moral leading them to be reactive. Thus, for me it is always important to seek feedback then giving feedback.

One thing I have found after receiving feedback is to be proactive. How an individual can be proactive is through processing the feedback and making a corrective and achievable action plan that aligns with the goal. Action plan should be always analysed and set a goal to achieve based SMART model.

There are a lot of factors that can enhance one's capability in achieving the career growth while seeking feedback such as, processing, action plan, communication while maintaining the relationship and many more, but what matters most is how you demonstrate situational leadership adaptation.
