Here is what I did: I was interested in data analysis and I reached out to the data analyst at my work if he is willing to provide 30 minutes to one hour training after work hours one day per week. He is good at SQL. He agreed to be my trainer. I spoke to my line manager and got approval. During few weeks, I learned the basics of SQL from him to kick start my data analysis interest. Interestingly, research papers are much clearer and easy to understand in ML.
