Here's some lessons I have learnt being a PR Consultant. - Carve your niche...be it a skill or particular industry you want to cater - Set your deliverables very clearly and ensure the client has understood what it is - Ensure you send weekly and monthly updates or setup weekly calls with client to ensure they know you are working. - Go beyond the brief and send valuable inputs or ideas that resonate with the brand - Ensure you know every leadership member because story ideas can come from any one - And ofcourse networking is key if you want steady leads.

Wow! I wish I had more time and a whole lot more resources. But, I don’t. Each day I need to figure out how to balance my time and resources in a way that allows me to create the most value added public relations impact I can. That boils down to my ability to be creative and think outside of the box. Because the Internet is free, or close to being free, I spend much of my time reading articles, and informing myself so that I can act with the most information possible. Once I have explored those resources which cost a little, I make decisions where to invest my limited resources. Education and career advancement has always paid off for me. When I use my limited time to educate myself, I become a more valuable, public relations, professional.

Es verdad. Al ser independiente es díficil saber cuando finalizar las actividades, sobre todo cuando hay mucho trabajo. Ser independiente no significa que te puedes asociar con otros para poder gestionar el exceso de trabajo. Por eso la planificación de cómo ejecutar las actividades y cómo hacerlo es fundamental.
