There must also be an element of "confidence" to perform such a task, so ensuring that in an Aviation company's ethos is key. If everyone is safety driven, when parameters seem to operate outside of limit, the crew, the employees and persons will try to do whatever to keep the operation in the safety parameters as specified, by manuals, SOPs or procedures. Data gathering and monitoring is key, not only to understand where things need to be improved, but also to understand what is already causing effectiveness.
