First, if you want to develop your career in the latest programming skills, you must analyse yourself to be ready to adapt skills. If yes, plan your learning path and focus on it consistently and firmly. Find some real-world problems and create a project to solve it. Project creation helps you to stick with your path and tech.

Absolutely! Taking the time to identify my interests was a game-changer. It wasn't just about the "what" of projects, but the "why." Understanding what sparked my curiosity and the kind of impact I wanted to make helped me focus my energy on the right problems to solve.

It's always good to narrow down your options to suit the path you want to take as a software developer. Identifying this can be hard sometimes and lead to you giving up completely. Don't do that. Watch a few tutorials to get a clear picture and consult some mentors on what to do then align your goals and be determined to take the path you want and research on the skills required for that path. Once you identify your goals and interests learn as much as possible and build projects. Building projects help you retain any information learned and also help you identify your weak spots. So build and keep building.

Learning, learning and learning. The best starting point in developing in demand skills is to have the desire to learn new things. One needs to invest time in acquiring knowledge in new skills. so first start by learning.

To be updated, you need to read articles, blogs, and tech sites every day. A great point to be focused on is to pay attention to the new startups that are growing solid and fast, so you know that this is a good example of what the market is demanding.

You can use the websites like LinkedIn, Twitter, naukri, indeed, apna, etc to explore the market that matches your skills. Then learn in public, add your projects and showcase them in these websites. This way, you'll grab more attention from the HRs.

Build connections with fellow programmers, professionals, and experts in your industry through social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and professional forums. Engage in conversations, seek advice, and leverage their experiences to gain valuable insights into market demand.

You can never learn everything. Don’t stress about it. Instead, focus on a skillset that makes sense for your chosen career path and choose tech that fits in. Do your best to nail it and get a comprehensive knowledge.

I have helped several people with developing learning paths and I always recommend three things... 1. Get a book or some formal written material that has some depth. 2. Find a good online community to join and ask questions from what you read in the book. 3. Find online resources like videos, blogs and articles that talk about the same topics you just read about in the book for alternative prospectives. Mix these together and practice every day and you will build skill quickly.

Don't make small projects like To-do list, calculator, etc. They are not helpful in getting companies' attention. Try to make more advanced projecta like Chat app, Video calling app, etc. They'll give you more exposure and more chances for getting desired job.

If you are working on a project already, try to bring something new every day, so you'll build a personal behavior that forces you to be always evolving your skills.

If you are a student, then taking part in hackathons, competitions, open source contribution, etc is a huge plus. Start doing DSA competitive programming on platforms like Leetcode, GFG, Code forces, etc.

Staying up to date is imperative!!! New technologies are developed and released daily, you don't want to be the engineer that didn't get the memo. Tech and programming newsletters are a worthy subscription, especially those related to your tech stack specifically. Developments can amplify your development efforts, because don't forget, you're a part of a community; the development and engineering community.

Growth comes when you do something which you have not done previously. And to do so, you have to keep yourself updated to the latest market trends. Explore various blogs, Twitter handles, etc to keep yourself updated.

Visibility is key in today's job market. Showcasing your skills through a strong portfolio (think GitHub Pages!) and engaging on platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter not only markets your expertise but builds your network for potential referrals. Hidden talent is wasted talent - let your work shine!

To develop yourself in any area of Tech, you need to keep practicing! In other spheres of life, you might be able to bypass this. But not in Tech. I learnt this and everything changed for me! I took a lot of theory courses and thought I was fine to go, until I applied for a job post and I knew I still had a long way to go. But after working on different projects with my colleagues, plus the theoretically knowledge I had before, I was just good to go So, I would advise this a hundred times. Goodluck!

You should have two things to showcase your work. First you should have a portfolio website where you generally talk about what you do and the projects you have worked on. The second is a github account where you showcase some code you have written and contributed to. The first will speak to business people and the second will speak to engineers. Together they help provide a well rounded picture of you and your skills.
