What do you do if you want to build a strong network in the sustainability industry?

I think it's essential to understand your potential role in the sustainability ecosystem or the one you would like to have. With that in mind, you can build your profile to become attractive to people. You can use every space available to connect virtually or in person. I like LinkedIn because it can help you connect with basically anyone, and it is an excellent platform to share your knowledge/interests and grow your network. Finally, remember that nothing is more important than connecting personally, so attend in-person events and add people to your LinkedIn network in those places where you are traveling and separate one day to have coffee with them. The sustainability ecosystem is small but growing fast; it is vital to be connected.

To build my network in the sustainability industry, I'll attend conferences, workshops, and engage in online forums and LinkedIn groups dedicated to sustainability. I plan to volunteer for relevant projects, gaining hands-on experience while meeting industry leaders. Following and interacting with influencers on social media will keep me informed on trends. I would say not being afraid to talk whether it is an event or online, feel free to share your ideas. Don't be afraid that you might sound strange, it is the environment we are talking about which needs we as its people to protecting it. Which can only start with acting.
