One thing I've found helpful is first of all, mapping the annual meetings and conferences worldwide, or in your territory. Secondly - understand the importance and benefits of attending each of the events, for example: networking with the relevant decision makers, learning the purchasing methods and budgets in the region, etc. then - decide which of the events one should participate, and what are the required outcomes of each of the events.
