In my experience, if a poor design quality project is delivered, then a time bomb is delivered. The stakeholders will be mad with the problems, and all the blame will fall on your head. It is better to negotiate the deadline.

I know very few clients who will not grant an extension to allow for higher design quality. However, the key to doing it right is proactively managing client expectations in a timely manner--to wit: a two-week extension that is asked for one month before scheduled submittal is much easier to accept than a two-week extension that gets requested one hour before scheduled submittal.

Sometime we tend to change the design (Re-design) by adding and/or eliminate some items in a manner that doesn’t affect the design purpose, meanwhile meet the time frame. Implementing these corrective actions might be helpful to simplify the job and consequently minimize the job duration.
