They involve the different functional departments and more specifically the managers or heads of department. The fear of these people is about organizational restructuring, loss of power and job loss due to the ERP deployment which enables the elimination of redundant tasks, the automation of repetitive tasks and the sharing of information across all departments.

The ERP and business strategies, with the goals and what people can expect as ERP deployment benefits, must be regularly communicated to the stakeholders and especially the employees. ERP-enabled information sharing improves cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals instead of departmental goals which are only suboptimal. The work of employees is enriched with less repetitive work and more time spent to process exceptions, deal with customers and make better decisions based on analytical insights. These streamlined business processes improve effectiveness and efficiency for improved customer and employee satisfaction with higher revenue and profit margin.

The teams are empowered by ERP training and user testing. The learning outcome of training with hands-on ERP experience is an engaged, motivated and confident employee who is ready to start using the deployed ERP to perform post-implementation tasks with some support especially at the beginning. ERP user testing is an opportunity to have employees' feedback which is analyzed and considered as potential improvements of the operational ERP. Therefore, the employees develop a sense of ownership of the ERP system which, if properly supported and maintained after its go-live, becomes an integral part of the corporate culture.
