There is a new way of preparing for GIS interview, given so many interviews I conducted for both GIS and software developers. The difference is that many software developers came with thing thing called digital portfolio, especially those that focus on frontend development. They have their github or personal landing page that covers all past projects to showcase. They would host these projects on free servers so that the interviewers can check them through to have a more thorough assessments of relevant skillsets to the job scope. The same can also be achieved by GIS developers IMO. You can host your projects on Gradio UI for free with the results of different analysis or publish some GEE applications. It makes you stand out for sure.
