I got the opportunity to meet and speak with a wide range of AI researchers, entrepreneurs and professionals, and their thoughts and perspectives have been very valuable to me. Thoughts and perspectives I never would have heard if I stayed at home. Therefore, I highly recommend to follow go to events like this to expand your knowledge and also try to follow all the top scientists and researchers in the field. You never know who will give you an insight that will impact your life massively. Be curious, respectful and humble and you would be surprised at what people share with you.

Since there is no general AI ready to reach the market, it is illusory to believe that a single AI will be able to answer to all the requests a human could formulate... From this observation, the idea is to focus on areas of expertise that narrow AI can easily address.

Steve Jobs once said that: "Innovation is the ability to see change as an opportunity - not a threat." We need to use AI as an opportunity to process vast amounts of data, so we can get the valuable bits from that data and connect different types of insight and knowledge to produce new innovations.

As more jobs and their functions are wholly, or partially replaced by technology specially AI based tools, it is time to rethink such roles. So instead of hanging onto old job descriptions, redefine and rescope each such role. Instead of thinking “eliminate”, think “transform”. Instead of feeling like you have lost your purpose, because the bots have taken over your job function, reprise and repurpose your role. Instead of looking elsewhere for the same role, re skill and up skill. instead of feeling insecure due to less and less to do, of the same old, try to find more and more of , something new, to do. Of course, the leadership needs to be lock in step with their employees during this transformation. Welcome to the AI century!

If AI isn’t going to replace you, someone else is certainly trying to get your level. Understanding the competitiveness of the job market is very important. Throughout my career, my focus has been on maximizing my opportunities. I am unable to control all the circumstances that might happen. I may have a new boss or move to a different city for a family member. However, I can control positioning myself so I have multiple choices. With those choices, I can pick one that fits the best. It’s been said, “The best time to buy a car is when you don’t need one.” The same idea applies to jobs. Always keep your eyes open. It doesn’t mean you need to job hop, and in fact that’s not desirable. But knowing you have options can ease the stress

Change is inevitable, so why not plan for it? Set aside a free, day-off afternoon, get some colored pens out, and put your creative hat on. Then feel into, what, given what I know about AI's future automation capabilities, could I be excited to do with it in the brave new world? Go ham on what comes up. I have a feeling you'll find yourself with more pep in your step after answering that question.

Know about the tools that will helps in your productivity, choose wisely and implement them in the practical if you are not upskilled then not only AI some will replaces you.

I really do believe that AI will automate many *tasks* but these are different from jobs. Also, we have agency in all of this as a society, so get out there and spread the word about the future you want and help build it. AI will help us in so many domains if we build it with that aim in mind. Embrace it, learn about it and develop expertise in an area you have the talent and drive for, that’s all you can do. There may be some disruption to industry and to roles (like in the Industrial Revolution) but we can see this coming - so again start having those conversations with elected officials, experts, your community and help move things in a positive direction.

Sure, new AI might do some of the stuff I do now, but there's still plenty it can't handle. It's like a strong kid - great at lifting boxes, but not so good at figuring out what goes where. That's where we come in! We can work together, me with my brainpower and you with yours, to make AI a super useful tool, not a replacement.

There are two things that come to mind here (personal opinions): 1) Automation always runs the risk of impacting some jobs more than others, but I think overnight disruption is often very easy to describe but not seen so much, this means there is time to adapt, so learn what you can about these capabilities, engage with them and try and make a plan. 2) As members of society, we have agency in this and do not have to just be passive observers. Have conversations about any worries with as many people as possible, discuss with your elected representatives, find communities and organisations that have views which align with your views and work with them for the future you want.
