What data and analytics do you use for UX design project decisions?

User Research Data simply undersatnd complete scope and requirments with different means and Understand Needs: Learn what users want and need from the product. Discover Preferences: Find out what design choices users like or dislike. Identify Pain Points: Identify problems or frustrations users encounter. Observe Behavior: See how users interact with the product in real-world situations.

Using user research data is all about getting to know your users inside out – who they are, what they want, and how they use your stuff. We use different tools, like talking to users, asking questions in surveys, watching how they do things, and creating journey maps. But here's the real deal: all this user research isn't just for show. It's the blueprint for our design. It helps us figure out what problems we need to solve, what goals our users have, and how we can make our product, process or even a dashboard super helpful for them. In many ways, user research is our guide, steering us toward designs that make our users delighted. And this should be at the heart of all our data journeys.

We collect data from surveys and interviews and analyse the user portfolios if they are existing customers. Once the user research data from diverse UX activities is gathered, it is essential to present it in a manner that enables easy access for all team members and facilitates understanding of the team's specific approach. This representation should address all inquiries and pose a challenge in creating a repository that effectively narrates the story of your work.

User Research is really the foundation of UX Design. If we don't know our target market and users, how can we design an effective product / experience? We use User Research to guide us in the journey of: - Understanding user flows - Informing content and language - Identifying conversion paths - Much more If we understand WHO we are designing for, we can craft effective user experiences and solve our core design problems.

Usability testing data is one key essential for UX decisions. I was working on a research feature and the assumption the team had was users would want to report wrong search results individually. This assumption was invalidated, as it was discovered they were searching for how to enable multiple selection for the wrong entries. Usability testing data improves the design iteration process and a very important arsenal for designers.

One thing that is important is the ability to ask open ended questions. Users are able to freely express their opinions and feelings through open ended questions. Speaking from the stand point of moderated research studies, I always ensured each question had an objective to properly capture only data important to the research goals. Here's an Example: Let’s create a scenario. You heard about a new payment mobile Application You’re on the App store and downloading the app, walk me through something you would expect. Objective: This is to understand their first impression about a product and know what was surprising to them or did not perform as expected.

During moderated research studies, Participants may answer a question earlier on in the conversation before you get to ask it. There is no need to repeat the question but you can double check. E.g. 'Earlier You said you liked Apple music because it was easy to use and colourful, right? Any other reason?
