On a Non Traded REIT when it says your investing it says an infinite time frame. If it is poorly managed or the market for that type of Real Estate Changes or interest rates increase the value drops and it is difficult for the REIT to find an exit strategy for any investor as it falls in Value. They also have the right to Cut or suspend dividends. Publicly traded REITS can be great but are also interest rate sensitive.
