Be careful about the source of your information. Too often when completing a needs analysis all (or most) of the information comes from a small subset of the population. As a result we don't get a true needs analysis, we get a picture of what a small group of folks THINK the needs are. Ensure that you are collecting data from as much of the team as possible, to ensure that your needs analysis is truly representative of the organization as a whole.
