I shared a story about how I helped a patron who was learning English and computer skills in the book "Inspiring Library Stories", which was compiled and edited by Oleg Kagan. This patron was a Cuban immigrant who was searching for a job as a substitute cafeteria employee. I was able to assist her with the job application- not just with filling it out, but with translating the parts in English that she did not understand. Not only she was able to get the job, but she was soon promoted to full-time permanent employee at one school- which greatly benefited both the patron and her daughter. I gave the story the catchy title of "New Lunch Lady"; and it was placed in the "Job Assistance" chapter of the book.

Your story should appeal to your audience's senses and imagination by using descriptive and sensory details that show rather than tell.
