First identify and draw all the existing processes. Checking the ways to eliminate or reduce time, and shorten the process by discussing and applying the practical applications. Then try to do the mockup or test the revamp process and implement it,

Auto reminders with a personal, human touch have worked great for me. I've previously set up Zaps that trigger an internal notification to the CSM -> which prompts them to drop a note to the customer. A plain old email gets the job done but can get ignored.

Incentives for renewals can be a double-edged sword. While it often boosts renewal rates, it also comes with potential drawback like the customer might face red tape like financial approvals or managerial consent, which can delay the payment process and cause them to lose out on the potential incentive. This can be solved by extending the renewal date for customers but its hard to do it at scale.

This is a no-brainer. Ask the customer earlier in their journey with you on their preferred payment mode - which you will use often. But tag other ways to pay. For ex. a customer prefers to pay via a bank transfer - add a payment link inside the invoice incase they'd like to pay with a company card.

Users be it internally or externally are the ones who can help the most in the design to streamline the CRM. It is extremely wise to survey them and have direct interaction dialogue through brainstorm session. One has to work with the IT team on how to translate those concerns in an algorithm and find ways to test it first and get a feedback from the users again before launching the new program.

This is the most crucial point. Make sure the team responsible for managing customers [often CSM] is well aware of renewal dates in the next 2-3 week window. Set up slack alerts, emails and so on.

One thing I have so far learnt in my carrer is the importance of data in every point of customer interaction and engagement. A customer experience professional should be able to properly analyze data and take the best decision that will suit the customer journey and equally improve overall customer experience.
