It's absolutely worthwhile to expose yourself to writing styles that you maybe don't read often - especially prose - because you can see how different structures can come together to create a unified and beautiful piece of writing. Not to mention, there are some extremely creative prose writers out there - I love to learn from them!

But if your are a romance writer and don’t see yourself writing that political book then don’t. It’s your voice. You know it best.
