If you are good at what you do, you will always find an opportunity. Sometimes a missed promotion opens the door to something better. I remember, I got rejected once for a project. I wanted the money but the client said no. I kept looking for work right after the interview. That same evening, someone paid me $1500 for just a couple hours work. Just like that, without any painful stipulations. If I got the other project, I'd have made less money for a much more difficult content piece. That's why you should count everything as a blessing. Yes, sometimes it's like hell. A writer's life is not an easy one. But keep believing in your craft. You will come across a deal that will pull you out of hell. And you'll be glad you waited.
