Supports – I make sure that I orient my model in a way that leaves no unsupported islands, and tries to make those islands as accessible as possible to the overall support structure. Layer Orientation – I consider the use of the item I am printing, and think about where forces might be applied, so that my layers provide the strongest support against any force. For example, if a part might be pulled, I would make sure the layers line up in a way that has them running long up and down the piece, so as not to be susceptible to snapping during use. In resin printing, I make sure to minimize the footprint of each layer by angling my print, which helps insure the print doesn't get stuck to the FEP film in the resin reservoir.
