What are the best ways to make your research proposal both original and significant?

As the starting point for any proposal, identifying and defining research gaps is crucial. Begin by reviewing literature within your areas of interest, taking time to gain a broad overview. This approach helps uncover research gaps such as missing links, insufficient geo-specific data, and mistaken interpretations. Seek guidance from supervisors to narrow down thematic areas and identify gaps, avoiding the challenge of navigating a vast ocean. In my research, I utilized the funnel approach, starting broad and progressively narrowing down to workable areas. Leveraging the support of mentors streamlines the process and enhances the impact of your contribution. In this process, you will do a substantial contribution to the scientific world.

How I do a best research proposal is gap analysis. I think global prospective on the one and but local impact on the other hand. A combination of both, time permitting, is feasible. Familiarity with statistical tools is crucial for effective design. Before experiments, visualize expected data and its analysis to enhance the proposal's significance. In my research, I used both closed and open setups for behavioral experiments, appreciated by peers and supervisors. Having a pre-experiment view of my data allowed me to incorporate comprehensive information directly into the proposal
