E fonction de nos objectifs il faut adapter cette lecture : presse spécialisée, livres sur la thématique dans les deux langues, s'adapter aussi aux tendances, en permanence, comme une gymnastique, car oui, une langue évolue en fonction des tendances socio-culturelles, de la conjoncture.

In my experience, reading around the topics and genres you want to write about is the minimum to gain exposure to the language you'll need to write your own pieces. But you also need to read purposefully to develop your writing skills. For example, reading purposefully is the basis for building the vocab you'll need to get your message across precisely and impactfully in your writing. This vocab building involves four steps. Noticing. For instance, highlight strong verbs that you wouldn't usually use. They'll help you liven up your writing. Understanding. Try to understand the meaning of unfamiliar words from the context. Then, check the definition and read a few example sentences in an online dictionary. DM me for steps three and four.

J'aime ce travail extérieur, ce feedback neuf, qui sait prendre la rédaction bilingue sous un jour nouveau. à titre personnel je n'hésite pas à confronter mes écrits, lorsque j'ai des doutes, à mes proches bilingues/trilingues. L'avis des autres, les regards neufs, donnent parfois des petites respirations sémantiques nécessaires. Il en va de même pour les outils en ligne, ils ne remplacent pas notre bilinguisme rédactionnel mais ils offrent de nouvelles perspectives.
