Once you have learned how to use Blender it is much easier to work in other softwares as they tend to be more user friendly. The reason why I tend to use Blender over Cinema 4D is when I use particle systems as Blender has better particle simulations built in.

As a Piping Engineer, I personally believe that independent & freelance projects outside of work & also exploring YouTube tutorials are the best ways to level up 3D modeling skills outside of work. Moreover, independent projects offer a new experience, enabling us to experiment with shortcut ways and techniques to create piping & equipment 3D models . In addition, YouTube is a valuable resource. There are countless videos dedicated to providing tutorials on various aspects of piping 3modeling.Utilizing these resources can help expand the knowledge and proficiency in 3D Modelling with PDMS,E3D, or theother piping design softwares.

3D modelling skills can also be integrated with other disciplines like animation, texturing, or even VR or AR. Collaborations with individuals from diverse backgrounds, partnering with programmers or other artists can introduce to new perspectives and improve your overall project quality. However, setting deadlines and scopes for these projects could be daunting as the work remains priority.

In my personal experience I feel like sometimes it can be hard to push yourself to do something extra in 3D after a long day at work. What I find helpful is to do short sessions for personal projects, to make them 30-40 minutes long, up to an hour, but to do it every day. Like a small personal workout. The other thing that helps keep interest in that is to have a buddy, someone who’s gonna do the same and you can share with each other your progress every day. Collaborating makes everything better! The last thing that helps me is to do stuff the opposite of something I do at work. If I make stylized environment at work I’d try focus on semi realistic characters for personal development.

Especially if you work on a project for a long time, having someone from the "outside" look into your design and giving you their feedback will get you further and help you get there faster...

I really feel it's the nice way to improve our work quality. Whever I work on personal or professional projects I always ask for reviews on each stage from 3d modelling to texturing. As we are into artistic field so there is no end of making it better and better and as we work continuously we missed some details that our own eyes can't notice and experience also matters. So I ask for reviews from our lead or seniors they gave few feedbacks to improve the quality of the work and by working on that we learn to notice that small details which make our works better and better.

"steal like an artist" . There's nothing valuable except real world examples. Observing objects, scenes, and motions is one of the most important workouts for an artist. One can start with by just duplicating objects / scenes from existing resources, and then they can also add their creativity into them ... practice practice & practice and by the end of the day they will get an idea on how to create their own creations

Ich war sehr begeistert von einer Idee des Cinema 4D Master Trainers Jonas Pilz, der eine seiner IBC Messe Pr?sentationen "Recreating Great Art" genannt hat. Im Rahmen dieser Pr?sentation hat er eine virtuelle Maschine, die er in den sozialen Medien gefunden hatte, in Cinema 4d rekonstruiert. Sehr spannend, inspirierend und lehrreich! Ein Polygon Mesh aus einer anderen Software/ oder für die Nutzung in einer anderen Software zu retopologisieren ist au?erdem sehr lehrreich und horizonterweiternd. Mir hat die Analyse von virtuellen Objekten/polygonmeshes sehr geholfen und meine pers?nliche Entwicklung immens bereichert.

Be careful. Many companies and professional repetitive a same mistake. In my opinion is very important to know and study a mistake to don't repetitive that. Other wrong concepts to mesure the experience for year....the experience is workedin different situations.

In my experience I didn’t have much growth in my 3d art until I started practicing consistently what I learned from tutorials so apart from reading articles and watching tutorials you have to practice what you learnt till it turns to a normal routine for you. You’re only going to gain experience if you attempt it and you can learn along the way.

In my experience begin curious and finding it more like reading will always be the best option hands down. The more you read and watch videos and go to sites and ask informative questions involving experts or even clients you will be very competitive.

I always read articles on gaming sites that share insight about games art and also articles created by top artists that share insight on how they made their artwork. I learn a lot from reading about different workflows to find the one that suits me better. There’s no fixed way to do everything and you have to stay updated in the industry. Also interacting with artists on social media platforms help a lot

This can be achieved by following interviews, articles, and content created by other 3D artists. Exploring different genres and styles of 3D art is also crucial in expanding creativity and artistic vision. Participating in events, workshops, and online communities provides valuable opportunities to learn from fellow professionals, exchange ideas, and be exposed to new perspectives. Continuous curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge are fundamental in maintaining motivation, inspiration, and enthusiasm for 3D modeling.

I have found looking at objects and figuring how you would assemble it inside of maya or blender. For example, look at a bottle, its a cylinder as your base, taper the top to the bottle neck, and create a chamfered edge at the bottom. The better you get the more complex items you can try to make, such as antique cabinets, complex decorations.

What I personally do to keep improving separately for work is this... I have a list of effects I wish to learn written down and updated occasionally. So every day, "particularly in the morning" I briefly pay attention to one of them and move on with other tasks. I could quickly check on YouTube or experiment in real-time in Blender 3D... This way, I keep learning new stuff every day separately from work :)

What I do to improve is I see more and more artworks or 3d works in artstation or LinkedIn. Means we also need to be updated with the technology that is growing every second. What new tools or new styles are updated into the software or out side related to our field that could be used in the work or to improve our skills.

Keep learning, no matter how many years of experience you've. If you think you're good in modeling using one specific software, then try learning a new software use your modeling skills in that. Having knowledge of multiple softwares help you catch attention of more clients. If you're good at character modeling try hard surface modelling etc. Keep learning new skills too.

All the methods described above are very important. High-quality courses, feedback from competent industry specialists. And of course, you need to be interested in trends, practice a lot and love your job??

The methods above are really helpful. What I would like to add is an approach to implement all of them efficiently—using time management tools to organize and track your tasks nicely. 1- Create task lists of todo, doing, and done in Trello(of course you can use other similar tools) 2- Drag only few but urgent tasks from todo to doing list. 3- Sync doing tasks to my Google Calendar. 4- (Back to Trello)Drag tasks from doing to done list once they are finished. Thanks to this way suggested by my mentor, I could improve my efficiency and motivation ??
