Learn the local knowledge from these key individuals and assess the risk through their network as well as understanding international relations and historical disruptions from the past. Get involved with groups and associations which are specific to your industry and supply chain. These associations often have knowledge and networks which can help you assess potential risk. History repeats itself. If it's happened once, it can happen again. It's always best to diversify and have plan B to mitigate potential risks.
