Leaders should model critical thinking with both a push and pull approach. Once a team knows its leader is always going to pressure test the critical thinking behind work, they will learn to pressure test things themselves. This is how a leader pulls critical thinking skills up in their team. The way a leader can push critical skills thinking is always displaying their own critical thinking behind their decisions. They should clearly define the problems they are solving, the hypotheses they tested, and the analyses they used to find the winning hypothesis.

A fourth way to foster a culture of critical thinking is to reward critical thinking among your team.
