1 Define your target population

Before you start recruiting your sample, you need to define your target population clearly and realistically. Who are the people you want to study and why? Diversity is also established by having critical understanding about population of category, a major contributor to this is having penetration and profile studies done on a natural fallout. This gives a good base of who exactly are your consumers and what are their demographics. For smaller brands or new brands the umbrella category can be taken as a sample point.

Novel recruiting methods that add value to underserved communities is a great way to build recognition, trust and interest. Support local organizations and help them build new programs tailored to their community's needs. Provide technological assistance to agencies and organizations trying to expand their outreach for established programs. Create new learning opportunities for staff and clientele and help them decide on the methods and procedures that will best support their goals. Steer clear of "it worked there" or "we have a plan" solutions and engage openly to solicit, clarify and refine goals that matter to your partner. It may take.more time than an off the shelf solution but it pays huge dividends in the long run.
