Data entry mistakes can significantly affect the duty limits for the aircraft’s operations. When entered incorrectly airlines can potentially over fly required maintenance or inspections. Additionally, these mistakes can adversely impact the effectiveness of maintenance planning. Scheduled maintenance/inspections are most effective when the maintenance team is not overloaded by a reactive posture due to poor/ineffective maintenance planning.
