KPI curation is an art. The difficulty to concentrate many dimensional disparate metrics into a few target metrics -if not a single one- is already difficult for very straight-forward, well defined tasks : e.g. having 10 anomaly scores coming from different sensors, how to aggregate. This difficulty increases much more when the KPIs are directly related with pure subjective concepts of human perception like marketing success etc. One thing I can say based on my experience in statistics, "copulas" are under-rated but very beneficial for proper KPI definitions.

You do not always need shiny new tools for testing. When you are using well-established tools on which you have the know-how, well-trained people as experts and experience how to use their whole potential, you will get more results than using always new tools which you might know nothing at all. Of course new tools should be considered as option if your current tools do not match the testing needs for your new technology. Choose relevant tools for testing which will bring you the data needed to reach your goal.
