What is the best way to evaluate your presentation's success?

The best ways to tell for me are: 1) Questions you're asked after the presentation can tell you a lot about whether your points and message got across. 2) The follow up you get after the presentation. If presentation is successful there's frequently follow-up and new connections and opportunities being made after that. 3) And of course your own intuition about how it went.

Measure your impact through audience feedback, engagement levels, and post-event discussions. Were your points clear and your message aligned with the audience's expectations? Even if you have a standard keynote (or signature speech) you need to make sure it will fit with the audience and tweak it to really hit home for whoever booked you. Asking lots of questions from the start to get 100% clear on what outcomes the client wants then having a pre-event briefing call to check if anything has changed since you first met. Your keynote is not about you, it's about how you can affect the audience's beliefs, behaviour, actions and emotions to do what the booker wants them to do.

La manera en la que usualmente evalúo si mi conferencia fue éxito o no es de dos formas: - Al final, el ver a la gente llorar, reír, el número de personas haciendo fila para tomarse una foto conmigo o para que les responda una pregunta ahí aprovecho para escuchar comentarios y cantidad de mensajes que me llegan a redes sociales. - Y la número dos es durante la conferencia, observo sus reacciones, lenguaje corporal, en medida de lo posible observo el número de personas que se ponen de pie, que se cruzan de brazos o miran mucho el reloj.

Data, and the analysis of data, is one of the best ways to determine if what you delivered resonated with the audience, or if the intended goals were met. While 'negative' feedback doesn't feel good, all feedback should be considered a gift. Data will tell the true story, good, bad or indifferent. I was poring through feedback after one of my speaking engagements and read that my placement on the day's agenda didn't feel optimal to some participants. My content was highly anticipated and they felt I should have been scheduled in the morning, not after lunch. Si bien es cierto que la práctica hace al maestro también es cierto que si lo practicas mal serás un maestro haciendo las cosas mal, algo que a mí me ha servido mucho es grabarme durante mis conferencias, después me estudio y veo como camino, como hablo, como observo a las personas, mi lenguaje corporal, coherencia, tono de voz, tiempos, mi presentación, inicio-cuerpo-cierre, manejo de emociones, etc... Los comentarios de las personas y de tus mentores te ayudan demasiado pero nunca debe de faltar el autoanálisis y por supuesto la practica.

Un moyen que j'utilise pour préparer et mesurer l'impact de mes présentation et l'état émotionnel de mon auditoire. En amont, je défini l'état d'esprit supposé de mon auditoire : état A. Par exemple s'il est habitué à voir des conférences, il risque d'être septique. Je défini l'état émotionnel "B" dans lequel je souhaite qu'il soit à la fin de mon intervention (enthousiaste, surpris, réfléchi...). Cela me permet ensuite de définir le plan d'action, les différentes étapes, les différents messages... pour les faire passer de l'état émotionnel A à B.
