Instead, try teaching them the basic movements of the games, how to walk, sprint and crouch. How to throw grenades or shoot and aim. Other mechanics can then be shown to the player perhaps through literature (maybe where you select your agents, you could write it's different skills or mechanics) or perhaps have dedicated tutorials for each one of them.

As a former esports player, i can safely say that this topic is most important when developing a game focused on esports. Some of the key points that esports can learn from traditional sports and are essential to create a good esports ecosystem: - Make the game free or very cheap with very low computer specs required to run; All it takes to play football is a round object, a field and players. - Accessible to a maximum number of audiences; Sports are an universal languange - Always maintain a singular version of the game live; There is no football 2, theres just football. - Focus on the spectator experience; Esports, like traditional sports, live off of spectators.

Tutorials aren't meant to make beginner players become pros at your game, rather they act as a guide to the game, so balance your tutorials in a way that teaches only the basics. Also, it's quite useful to have a "Skip" button so players who already played the game (perhaps after re-installing), can skip through the tutorial
