?? Here's a hot take: I don't think YOUR purpose and vision are relevant! What matters is your ALUMNI'S purpose and vision. Or said differently, how do you help them get what they want and be the HERO in their own story? I would start and obsess on this above all else. Because if you nail it, you'll have highly engaged alumni that not only stay but they'll yell and tell others. WHY? Because their purpose and vision are being fulfilled through engagement. This is the value eXchange to get right.

Grande parcela dos egressos costuma se afastar da faculdade, confesso, que n?o é nada muito fácil engajar os mesmos. Acredito que, além de um núcleo de apoio, manter grupos de egressos, e-mails para divulga??o de oportunidades pode ser a entrada para o trabalho colaborativo e buscar com quem tenha o propósito firmado em auxiliar a comunidade.

One thing I have found useful is creating simple role descriptions for volunteer opportunities. They certainly help to take the guess work out of what is being asked for the volunteer. Alumni support starts from the very first interaction at your school on day 1. Happy students turn into happy alumni. Happy alumni are much more willing to mentor students, serve on advisory boards, connect their employer to provide internship and employment opportunities for students/graduates, and give financially. Seeing the larger picture is a university-wide priority and it is difficult when alumni engagement falls to one department. A robust alumni department should continue to serve as stakeholders in various college initiatives-- advocating for the best student experience possible and driving initiatives that teach students to love the university.
