It might sound old-fashioned, but besides computer-based data organization tools, I'd like to recommend using paper. For any given topic take an A2-A1 paper sheet and stick notes to create a roadmap or just structure the relevant findings in categories e.g. hypothesis 'pros' in green, 'cons' in red, 'questions' in yellow. Lines can be used to link the 'questions' to the related information, which may lead you a step closer to the answer!
