There isn’t 1 single tool which helps monitoring db performance end to end. You start with any tool, you build it as per your environment demands. For instance logic monitoring or OEM for oracle or solar winds or UIM Broadcom or dynatrace provides a best set of targets to start with. But it doesn’t provide you destiny. Performance optimisation is a journey and you keep moving the bottleneck from one place to another so is your monitor gets extended. So the recommendation is to start with native monitoring products or based on your environment composition you can choose a tool which covers most, not just db performance but as a whole platform.

After evaluating serveral tools in market we selected Solarwainds database performance analyzer (DPA) and Idera.
