Most people wast time (and energy) by getting disturbed. Hence deactivate your notifications on your computer and smart phones. One example: many office workers receive a pop-up whenever a new mail arrives. They then read the mail (which takes time and may lead to stress because it describes a new problem that would require action), they then return to their previous tasks (takes time again) and somewhen later they re-read the mail and answer it. It's better to deactivate the notifications and schedule 2-4 times a day specific time to read and directly answer the mails

When new in a position or company, look for people with experience that can help you get integrated faster and understand how the company and department work. If you have an executive assistant make them your best ally for figuring out how things work, what to delegate and to whom. Actively listen to your team and be open for ideas of improvement. Therefore, create an environment of psychological safety, so that your team members feel confident sharing how they feel about their work, the projects & tasks they are entrusted with as well as ideas for improvement.
