What are the best strategies for building a collaborative team culture in remote work environments?

Once a team has been defined, along with their underlying mission, it is wise to assess the specific strengths of each team member, and ideally, establish an increased awareness of how each team members attributes could be leveraged to optimize outcomes. The “first, discover your strengths” is imperative to be well addressed in such as manner as clarity as to how these strengths can best be applied to make the team’s project objectives and outcomes are ideally optimized to accomplish most, if not all, of those specific outcomes in an expeditious manner. Communicate candidly and in person/through video or voice where possible. Tone gets lost in text and verbiage that needs clarification in text will linger and cause issues. Body language or immediate ability to remedy these issues is critical because, at the crux of effective communication, is that your ego and pride have to be the last thing on the docket - communication is only effective where it may be candid. The biggest boost in my profession competency came when my boss very clearly and concisely called me out for reliance on old work product that I didn't thoroughly vet. This does not, however, simply mean whiteboarding or making a venn diagram and adapting the intersections; no, rather, this means having to have input test and be tested just as much as the problem being tackled is critiqued and analyzed. An untested theory or plan, or one that you refuse to be subject to such scrutiny, should be discarded. After all, can you collaborate or learn from someone who doesn't actually understand their stance? This process creates experts, better ideas, processes, systems, and products, and draws more people to the table to contribute and to hear.
