Moving data and validating is a challenging task when large amount of data is involved and its even more challenging when data is live(a.k.a production data). More of situation that includes Shopping sites, Banking, Finance and the like. There are multiple ways this can be achieved. -- One of them is the trivial approach of sampling (multiple) of migration data before actual migration. -- Other is sharding of existing data and migrating shards one after the other. Sharding approach adds extra effort to have schema for the destination database. Post-migration validation for either anyway. Org's can mitigate migration challenges by creating a database replication setup and backing up the primary node ,always saves a lot of money and effort.

2 Choose the right migration method

Depending on your data type, size, and complexity, you may opt for different migration methods. Dump and load is the simplest and fastest method, where you export your data from the source system as a file, and import it into the target system. However, this method may not work well if you have large or heterogeneous data, or if you need to perform any transformations or validations.
