Managing a team of Database Administrators (DBAs) across multiple time zones comes with unique challenges, however, but adopting best practices can lead to effective collaboration and successful outcomes. Define Roles and Responsibilities: Clearly outline the roles and responsibilities of each team member. Establish expectations regarding task ownership, deadlines, and communication protocols. Autonomy: Encourage autonomy by empowering team members to take ownership of their tasks. This fosters a sense of responsibility and accountability.

One of the biggest things I have learned in my career is respect. Respect starts from the top respecting below, so it can be reflected back. How does respect help manage a team in different time zones? Leadership respecting the hours of their team. I have worked with international and national teams and it was critical that I understood when my teams start and end of their day and not cross those boundaries. The respect back was my team keeping me informed if they needed to leave early or flex a few hours for any reason. Do make the team comfortable and easygoing to approach anything and everything for work related. Do make team bonding eg ( wish them on birthday or anniversary etc)
