Just my two cents. It’s about authentication and authorization as the first priority. Sure, encryption and data security is important. But ultimately it’s a matter of who’s using your network or application. Current encryption techniques are essentially unbreakable. The real trouble is comes from when the wrong user gets the right access. Don’t believe me or agree? That’s okay. But many disasters are perpetrated from the inside out. Stuxnet comes to mind as a well known example.
