Being specific while reaching out is always useful. Mentors don’t like generic requests that look like cold calls. You want to reach out for a special reason to a special person. If you haven’t come to that stage yet, use the existing online content before going to a mentor.

While reaching out to mentor, 'starting with WHY' is a good place to begin. Why the specific problem and why the mentor. This would give the potential mentor the necessary context which would enable the mentor to help the mentee accordingly

One thing that has worked for me (both as a mentee and as a mentor) is to interact with mentee/mentor beyond just the goal, progress, etc. While the goal is a medium for collaboration, I believe mentorship is beyond a specific goal and the relationship ought to bloom into a partnership at some level

Latest research and best Practices, Ability to work with small groups/individual students Individual content expertise Sound advice about good practice, what works and what doesn’t and why Teaching tip eep knowledge of Students divide up subjects, each taking primary responsibility for certain content areas up centers to provide more oversight and direction. Mentor teacher and student teacher split up class and teach smaller groups the same or different content . review assessments and reflect together on effectiveness of lessons. Mentor teacher plan together. both initiate instruction and share ideas. Pool their resources and think together about how to help individual students. Observe each other, ask questions and offer feedback.

A section on 'where' one can find a suitable mentor might be insightful. The mentor could be within the same company, industry or even in an unrelated field... but might have relevant experience and background
