With New Laws, in Brazil, we must concern about Conservation Areas and their buffer areas. It may cause diferences on useable areas and compensation numbers. Other useable hint is looking for natural riches and try to keep it up and make it more relevant for the whole urban ecosystem. One thing I have always found helpful in EIA is involving the stakeholders in the process. This ensure adequate and reliable baseline information of the environment. Appropriate method of data analysis also helps. However, poor monitoring and review strategy of the project can shatter the whole report, as some major parts of project design can be modified during development. This will render key areas of mitigation measures useless as the scope of the project is modified. So stakeholders involvement is as important as monitoring and review.

En effet, la planification urbaine dans pratiquement beaucoup de pays est régi par des documents stratégiques et opérationnels notamment : les politiques de développement urbain, les stratégies de développement de villes durables, les plans de développement urbain (PDU), etc. Mise à part ces politiques et plans opérationnels, il est important de prendre en compte les textes de lois et la réglementation sur l'environnement, la gestion des ressources naturelles, l'urbanisme, ....
