I advocate for the use of mobile-first frameworks like TailwindCSS and Bootstrap, which greatly facilitate frontend development. However, some technologies, such as React Native, may require writing custom CSS. It's crucial to consider both established frameworks and, when needed, build from scratch based on specific requirements in responsive development.

Bootstrap and Foundation are robust frameworks that offer responsive design elements suitable for mobile-first development. Frameworks like Bootstrap and Foundation provide a foundation of reusable components, CSS styles, and JavaScript functionalities, enabling developers to create responsive, visually appealing, and consistent designs without having to build everything from scratch.

One framework that I have been using for quite some time is Bootstrap and I feel that its almost perfect for anyone who wants to get the frontend of a website ready very quickly. Moreover, Bootstrap is an easy-to-use framework and their documentation is quite beginner-friendly as well. You don't need to worry about responsiveness for your website since if you are using the CSS-classes alongwith pre-built components offered by them, your website is magically built responsive by default.

TailwindCSS and Bootstrap are two prominent frameworks that come to mind when thinking about creating a responsive website. Personally, TailwindCSS stands out more as a clear choice due to its flexibility and customization. This comes with a huge learning curve. On the other hand, Bootstrap has an easier setup because there isn't a whole installation process, providing rapid development already. At the end of the day they both achieve a responsive website. The difference becomes on what the project needs: customizable features and more control with TailwindCSS, or an easy approach with a simplified installation process with Bootstrap.

One of the best, semi-hidden features in NextJs 13.4+ is that the new 'next/image' package does a great job of handling image optimization for you. Images are automatically scaled based on viewport and device on browser-paint, and the optimization service workers are part of Vercel's free content-delivery...up to a volume limit. While not perfect, for most modern web projects built in React, it's a big win if you lean into the Vercel stack. If not, I've always relied on Photoshop for batch optimizing entire image folders. Setting up a script takes minutes with the GUI, requires no coding, and it's the easy way I've handled image optimization for lots of images for web for over 20 years. Also...use SVG's wherever possible.

It all comes down to personal preference and choices when you look at code editors and IDEs, But I personally like VSC (Visual Studio Code) editor.

My favourite tool is undoubtedly none other than Visual Studio Code. It might be a little overwhelming when using for the first time due to the various tabs and buttons spread all around which obviously have their own helpful uses that you will eventually come to know as you get experienced with this tool. There are loads of features thats comes packed with this tools and one of the major ones is the extensions market. You can easily add helpful extensions to boost up your coding speed and/or test your code within the tool as well.

After over 10 years of coding in VSC, I've finally found an upgrade and won't be going back. Cursor.ai is an IDE built on top of VSC, powered by all the same technology, extensions and so on, but with one big difference. Core to the product is integrations with Openai's GPT models, allowing you to not just generate, refactor and query code in your open file, but also draw context from other files in the directory if needed. I've found it especially adept at writing code or content, especially if the content structure is in JSON. While Microsoft and Github Copilot are also part of my tool-stack, I find Cursor to be more seamless an experience (at least for now). However with AI-powered visual IDE's on the near horizon, you never know.

NPM (Node Package Manager) and Yarn serve as package managers that facilitate seamless integration of third-party libraries and tools into projects. They ensure dependency version consistency across development environments, mitigating compatibility issues and enhancing project stability.

A dimension not addressed in this article is the need to work closely with your design team. When you collaborate with designers early in a project, you can share your thoughts on how design choices might affect development. This teamwork helps align the goals of design and development, making the whole process smoother.
