La tasa de retención si es un indicador importante, siempre y cuando vaya de la mano con el incremento del monto de la renta. Se debe tener cuidado en los contratos negociados, ya que puede suceder que de inicio se haya negociado una renta baja con el objetivo de penetración en el mercado, pero que a la larga la renta por contrato sólo aumente lo equivalente a la inflación cuando en realidad el mercado ha aumentado más que eso. En ocasiones es mejor renovar inquilinos con más empuje.
