I agree, but These are usually canned algorithms with parameters settings to perform in as you expect. Care has to be taken in configurations of parameters. I recommend Always identifying what is expected and testing in a sand box before using online.

In my experience a library of algorithms gives the programmer a lot of options for creativity and still consistency in code. The key is knowing which algorithm in the library to choose and knowing how to explicitly configure it for your purpose. I.e. making the template for use in each application. As mentioned before, always test in a sandbox before using it online.
