What are the advantages and disadvantages of gate valve and control valve in terms of maintenance?

In addition, they provide tight sealing when fully closed. And the small number of parts made it easy to maintain. Gate Valves can be used in wide range of applications like water/waste water, steam, oil, fluids and mediums containing granular solids with high viscosity. Disadvantages of gate valves can be briefed in the high friction and erosion when the valve is used over time that can damage the sealing faces and become hard to repair and this will reduce the service life of the valve. Also slow opening and closing with larger sizes.
